Introduction

 

This highly regarded and popular programme has been designed to offer core skills and knowledge in human resource management and to improve the practical performance of staff involved in HR related areas. The course will cover key skills in the areas of selection, interviewing and counselling as well as training and development. The programme structure gives the opportunity to apply the skills covered as you move through the programme and will improve your performance as you progress. The programme has been designed and developed in consultation with industry and will benefit a wide range of people who need HRM skills to perform effectively.

 

Who is the Programme for?

 

The programme is aimed at junior and middle managers and new recruits to the human resources area. The wide range of participants from different industries and organisations who attend the programme will be a vital part of your learning experience.

· Performance Management & Appraisal

· Training and Development

· Human Resource Planning and Organisational Context

 

Students are required to complete 4 assignments and a work based project.

 

Entry Requirements

 

This programme is designed to appeal to those already working. Entry will be considered on the applicant's individual merits and experience.

Every Monday evening (7—9 .30 p.m)

Project-based assessment

70 % minimum attendance

 

Award

 

CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice.

 

Progression

 

Graduates will be eligible to apply for associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). To qualify for the award and associate membership a separate membership fee must be paid directly to

CIPD.
