Building Energy Rating Assessor Programme

 

European and Irish Law requires all houses over the next few years to have an energy certificate. This programme will enable successful candidates to become an approved BER Assessor. Participants will develop the skills to meet the criteria required by Sustainable Energy Ireland and will also receive a Level 6 FETAC Award in Building Energy Rating Assessment.

 

Learning Outcomes Include

· Be familiar with the key objectives and background to the European Performance of Building Directive (EPBD).

· Demonstrate the ability to undertake limitation of CO2 emission calculations as required by the Building Regulations.

· Be capable of collecting data on dwelling specifications and other characteristics that affect energy and CO2 emissions performance.

· Input data it into the Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP) software to produce BER Labels and Advisory Reports for new dwellings.

Prerequisite

People who have an interest in energy.

People who have relevant construction experience is desirable but not essential.

Participants will be required to have own laptop computer and calculator.
